George Dickel No. 12, Tennessee Whisky, 45%

Review #777
This is a sour mash whisky, containing of 84% corn, 8% rye and 8% malted barley. Caramel, bitter oak and hints of red berries in the smell. A little dark chocolate behind it all, and vanilla finishes it off.

Dry oak in the taste – tickles the tongue. Quite spicy as well. Wood spices that is. The caramel and vanilla comes forward in the finish, and this – accompanied with the oak – is what you are left behind with.

What to say. It is fine, but seems quite basic and a little “un-challenging”… There would be many other whiskies in this style I would choose before this. But again, it’s fine, and I am sure that many people really enjoy this – perhaps with a good cigar! I will give this 82/100 (20/20/21/21).
