Glenmorangie, Legends – The Duthac (bottled 2015), 43%

Review #807
This is a travel retail, and it is partly finished in Pedro Ximenez Sherry and Virgin oak casks. Loads of caramel at first in the smell. Strawberry jam, apricots and raisins. Some lemongrass in the background.

Sweet dried fruits in the taste. White fruits then comes forward – mostly green apples. Burned oak and caramel. The finish is a bit oaky, with the dried fruits blending in. Raisins, apricots and some ripe plums.

I cant help thinking this is a bit undermatured. Nothing wrong with the whisky, but I just sense some new make spirit and citrusy notes in the background… Still, it’s a fine dram, and I think it would go well with some vanilla ice cream. I will give this 83/100 (22/21/20/20).
