A single cask from van Wees, with the cask number #50234. Only 281 bottles were made from this hogshead. White fruits, vanilla and some toffee in the smell. You sense the classic Imperial grassy touch in the background.

Very mild actually, considering the 46%, in the taste. White fruits and caramel (like Werther’s Original). Then some oak starts mixing in. Vanilla and some sugary sweetness joins in, in the finish. Very mellow!

The balance is fine, but I miss a bit of complexity. It is still a fine whisky, and you definitely win a bit by leaving it in the glass to breath for a while. Not the best Imperial out there, but definitely not the worst either! I will give this 84/100 (21/21/21/21).
