Glen Scotia 14 yo (2002), SMWS 93.75, 56,9%

Review #819
This whisky is called “In an octopus's garden” and comes from a refill ex-Bourbon barrel. Only 218 bottles were made. A sugary, almost rum-like, sweetness at first in the nose. Baked apples and a vanilla creaminess.

White fruits and sweet rum soaked raisins in the taste. It is slightly salty with just a hint of tobacco. Extremely sweet in the finish. Alongside comes some oak and great oak spices, but in the end, it’s the sugars and vanilla you are left behind with.

A great whisky overall. I’m especially enjoyed by the complexity. It’s one of those whiskies where something new emerges after each sip. Loads of flavours for a refill ex-Bourbon barrel. I will give this 86/100 (22/21/21/22).
