Review #824 |
A lovely single cask, bottled from a hogshead with the cask number 50131. Only 265 bottles were made. Classic Imperial in the smell – grass, hay and white fruits. Baked apples and pears.
A fun combination of a farm-like feeling, mixed with fresh white fruits in the taste. Loads of hay at first, with the Bourbon hogshead doing its part in the finish, with vanilla and marzipan complimenting the grassy notes.
It is great, but maybe a bit simple for a 17 year old single cask. It’s a bit more farm-like than what you normally get in an Imperial, so if you enjoy that style, this is definitely something for you! I will give this 87/100 (21/22/22/22).
