I finally got around to this less known little brother
to Highland Park 12 year old. The smell is just like standing in the front of a
ferry. Some hints of citrus as well and some nougat sweetness.
The taste is more peated and you can sense some hint
of dried fruits. It seems mellower than the smell. The finish is mostly citrus
with some hints of honey and light peat.
The balance was predictive and the complexity was at a
minimum. I know it sounds very negative, but I really enjoyed this. Not like a
challenging dram I can sit and analyze for hours, but like a dram I can enjoy
in good company with a good beer like Innis & Gun and good board game. I
will give this 83/100 (21/21/21/20).
