Hazelburn 10 yo, 46 %

Review #128
Triple distilled and matured in bourbon casks. Fresh, barley and smoothness like and Irish whiskey on the nose. It smells good, but a bit too light for my taste. Some vanilla sweetness in the end.

It is much more powerful in the taste. Full bodied with notes of barley and great influence from the oak. It is almost creamy in the finish and notes of honey and chocolate appear.

A fine dram, but not that complex and the balance is a bit off. It is wonderful that Springbank keep the minimum ABV at 46, cause I think that this would have suffered significant if it was watered down to 40 %. On the other hand it would have been great at cask strength. I will rate this 86/100 (21/22/22/21).
