Review #137 |
Sitting in Drum Bar in Malmö (Sweden) and the whisky
of the month is Asyla from Compass Box, so of course I give it a go. The smell
is so sweet, like being in a candy store. You get some oak in the end as well.
A bit more oak in the taste with some honey sweetness.
Some of the sweetness stays faintly for a while, but not many changes in the
finish, but it is nice and simple.
Fine balance and a simple whisky. Water doesn’t do
much for this whisky except making it weaker. Give it a couple of minutes in
the glass to open up and some citrusy notes will appear. I will give this
84/100 (20/22/22/20).
