Review #161 |
A blended
malt, which has some of the flavor from virgin French oak. Vanilla, rubbery
notes, ginger, black pepper and gentle oak in the smell. A whisky where you
just keeps getting more and more smells the longer you are sitting.
It is only
46 % but still has a bit of a kick at first in the taste. A lot of malt and
there is a reason why it is called The Spice Tree. The finish stays for quite a
while and you get some peppery notes, burned oak and lot of different spices
and herbs.
A pretty
complex whisky with a lot of different smells and tastes. Give it some minutes
in the glass and you will notice some new stuff. Give it some water and more
new stuff will appear. I will give this 86/100 (21/21/21/23).
