Kilchoman, 10th Anniversary Release, 58,2 %

Review #226
This is a mixture of bourbon and sherry casks from vintages between 2005-2012 and then bottled in 2015. 3000 bottles were made. Sweet vanilla, peat, dirt and lemongrass on the nose. Some burned oak or charcoal as well. Almost with some bonfire or BBQ in the end.

The taste is on fire. A lot of flavors due to the high ABV, different types of casks used and the heavy peat. The sweetness really comes forward in the finish but is nicely accompanied with some fruity flavors. Actually there is some dried fruit flavors in the background all the way from the first sip hits your tongue to the end of the finish.

A classic Kilchoman but with a touch extra. It can only be bought at the distillery and actually, there is whisky in the mix from cask 01/2005, the first cask ever filled at Kilchoman. This is not bad. Not bad at all! The best Kilchoman I have tried yet from this relatively new distillery. I will rate this 89/100 (21/22/23/23).
