Glenrothes 17 yo (1997/2015), Chapter 7, 54,5 %

Review #386
This is from the series “A Whisky Anthology. It is from a Bourbon hogshead and only 219 bottles were made. Sweet at first in the smell. Like caramelized apples. Then some ripe plums and raisins mixed with some marzipan and vanilla comes forward.

Oak and a bit darker fruits appears in the taste. Incredible sweetness in the finish. Not overwhelming, but in a different kind of way. Like bubblegum meets dried fruits. I love how the sweetness is left behind, and you sit for ages with some sugary sweetness on the side of your tongue.

This is a good dram, and perfect for an occasion where you want to sit in front of the fireplace, but would like something a bit different from the normal classical dried-fruit-drams. I will give this 87/100 (22/22/22/21).
