Mackmyra MACK, 40%

Review #674
This is matured in ex-Bourbon casks and has a “fresh and youthful” character, if you ask the distillery. It is partially made for cocktails. Apples and apples in the smell. A bit sweet and notes of vanilla is coming through as well.

“Seems very young”, was my initial thought. Apples, sweet pears and subtle oak in the taste. Some caramel, vanilla and a touch of spices comes forward in the finish. Besides that, not much really happens here…

I enjoyed the smell – it reminded me of the good old days – but from there, it was down hill. It’s way too young. The casks haven’t been allowed to do its job. Another major issue here, is of course the low ABV. If you have a product that lacks in flavours, it isn’t the wisest choice to dilute it as much as possible!! I will give this 77/100 (20/19/19/19).
