Haig Club, Clubman, 40%

Review #694
This is the second release in the Haig Club/David Beckham saga. It is distilled at Cameronbridge Distillery and matured in ex-Bourbon barrels. Some over perfumy sweetness in the smell. Strange mix, but soon the sweetness takes over. A little marzipan and toffee.

A bit of floral notes in the taste, but it is quickly taken over by some caramel and butterscotch. The finish dies rather quickly, but at least the caramel notes comes even more forward with some vanilla and hints of spices.

I wasn’t too keen on the smell, but the rest was okay. Boring, but okay. I must say that the floral notes came more and more forward for every sip, and it is not the kind of floral notes I enjoy… I will give this 73/100 (18/18/19/18).
