Review #728 |
This is bottled for a group of employees in
the Danish bank Spar Nord. It is peated spirit, matured in a Bourbon barrel, before
it is finished for around two years in a 30 litre cask. The colour is almost
black! The smell is full of oak and marzipan. More oak...
Some peat and oak in the taste. A feeling
of thick caramel in the mouth. Oak and oak in the finish with loads of sugary
notes. Don’t know what to think of this!!
Something has just gone wrong here... Maybe they
left it for too long in a small cask, or maybe something was wrong with the
wood... I probably wouldn’t have guessed this to be whisky in a blind tasting!
More like a strange rum... I will give this 65/100 (18/15/16/16).
