Loch Lomond 16 yo (2000), SMWS G9.2, 62,4%

Review #733
This a single grain whisky and it´s called “Chocolate mice and cinnamon spice” and comes from a 2nd fill Barrel/ex-Bourbon. Only 261 bottles were made. Sweet vanilla and white fruits in the smell at first. Then cake (white cake) and toffee.

White chocolate and oak in the taste. Oak spices (yes, here we got the cinnamon). Very warming in the finish (some water wouldn’t hurt!). The fruity flavours comes a bit more forward here, but it is still very cake-like. White oak cake...

The more I smell, the more it reminds me of cake! A classic, but good, grain whisky. Not as elegant as the old grain whiskies, but still a sweet desert like pleasure. I will give this 86/100 (21/22/22/21).
