Bruichladdich 11 yo (2005/2016), Highland Laird, 58,4%

Review #748
This is from Bartels series "Highland Laird", and is matured in a first fill Bourbon barrel. Loads of marzipan in the smell. Oak and vegetal notes - mostly like hay.

Very flavourful! Marzipan, vanilla, honey (yes, a bit sweet) and oak in the taste. The distinctive Bruichladdich marzipan/vegetal character comes forward in the finish, and the sweetness gets accompanied by a dash of salt.

A bit simple on the nose, but full of flavours in the taste. Very distinctive and probably not everyone’s cup of tea, but if you like Bruichladdich and you have a sweet tooth, this just might be you. I will give this 87/100 (21/22/22/22).
