Speyburn 7 yo (2004/2012), Spirit & Cask Range, 55,5%

Review #782
This is bottled by Whiskymax, and comes from a Sherry butt with the cask number 8667. Only 716 bottles were made. Vanilla, ripe pears and crisp apples in the smell. Still hints of new make, and some citrus as well.

First… Alcohol burn! Then some floral notes in the taste. White fruits and lemon grass. Basically everything but classic Sherry influence… Burned caramel and vanilla in the finish. Again the new make notes are visible…

If you expect this to be a Sherry-bomb, you are in for a big disappointment… Very under-matured, and because of this, it’s closer to new make than to a Sherry-bomb. I will give this 79/100 (20/19/20/20).
