Ardbeg 10 yo (2008/2019), SMWS 33.137, 59,9%

Review #800
This whisky is called “Campfire marshmallows on singed sticks” and comes from a first fill Bourbon barrel. Only 231 bottles were made. Ashy peat and seaweed in the smell. Like standing by the water at Ardbeg distillery - very salty! White fruits - over ripe apples.

The alcohol and peat goes great together hand in hand in the taste. Meaty peat! Burned caramel and a dash of vanilla in the finish. Very warm and the oak influence is just brilliant.

Another great young Ardbeg. Not overly complex, but the young feistiness is making up for that! Oh, and the balance is great! A everyday dram, with a little extra. I will give that 88/100 (22/22/22/22).
