Fary Lochan 6 yo (2013/2019), SMWS 141.1, 61,9%

Review #797
This whisky is called “Dramlet: the Dark Prince of Denmark” and comes from a 1st fill ex-Oloroso Sherry Hogshead. Only 297 bottles were made. Dates, raisins in rum, sweet canned plums and tobacco in the smell. Sweet vanilla and gentle oak in the background.

A massive kick of alcohol at first in the taste, and then the flavours come rushing in. Dry oak, dried fruits and tobacco leaves. Burned oak and caramel joins the dried fruits in the finish.

The first European whisky bottled by SMWS (besides Scotland of course). I would never have guessed that this is only 6 years old. Water really opens it up. Best Danish whisky I have tried so far! I will give this 91/100 (23/22/23/23).
