Linkwood 21 yo (1997/2018), Malt dé Royal, 54,5%

Review #795
This is a single cask, cask strength, natural colour, unchill filtered bottling by Gleann Mór Spirits, bottled for Golden Drops. It’s from a Bourbon cask and the smell is full of sweet vanilla hay. Baked apples, and a great subtle oak influence.

Vanilla bomb in the taste. Candy for fans of Bourbon cask matured whiskies. The alcohol hits hard, but soon the flavours come rushing in! White fruits and a hint of grassy notes. The finish is long and sweet. Some burned caramel with an oaky touch.

A subtle smell, even though it’s cask strength, and then a blast of flavours in the taste, that leads all the way to the finish. This is just a great Bourbon cask matured whisky – nothing less, nothing more. I will give this 87/100 (21/22/22/22).
