By Wilson & Morgan comes this Barrel Selection made from 1st Fill Bourbon Barrels, with the cask numbers 12 to 21. It’s labeled “Second Batch”. Classic Caol Ila vanilla peat in the smell. Black pepper, white fruits and grass.

The taste is exactly what I expected after nosing this whisky. Peated, but not heavily-Islay-peated, vanilla and some black pepper again. The finish is quite spicy and leaves you wanting another sip.

This is fantastic as accessory to a dark beer, but as a whisky to sit and pick apart, it’s perhaps a bit boring. Still fine quality, just a bit simple, but in many ways, it gets the job done. I will give this 83/100 (21/21/21/20).
