Bunnahabhain 2014 (bottled 2019), W&M – Barrel Selection (Heavy Peat), 48%

Review #837
By Wilson & Morgan comes this Barrel Selection made with heavy peated Bunna. It is from two Butts, with the cask numbers 14010129/30. This is so classic Islay-Bunnahabhain-Bourbon-matured in the smell as it can be. Loads of peat, vegetation (hay and heather) and vanilla sweetness.

The taste is basically what you would expect from the smell. Peat, white fruits (green apples) and vanilla. It's mostly the peat that lingers off in the finish.

This is a VERY uncomplicated whisky! It delivers excatly what you would expect from a young, peated, "cheap" Islay whisky. If you are looking for complexity, you are definitely better off with something else. However, I think there is a place for everything, and if you are in the mood for a simple drinking whisky, this would be a great choice. I will give this 82/100 (21/21/20/20).
