Review #313 |
Matured in Bourbon
casks, crafted by Robert Fleming. The smell has all the classic Bourbon cask
influence. Vanilla, honey and due to the age, some light toasted oak and
spices. With that said, not much more is going on here.
The taste
is a bit watery, but some nuts (mostly almonds), fresh plums and light oak
joins the party. The finish gets a bit more sugary, like fudge, but besides
that, not much changes. The taste and finish reminds me very much of cake! If
that makes any sense…
Too bad
they watered this all the way down to 40 %, as I think this actually had some
potential at a higher strength. The palate and finish simply just drown in all
the water… I will give this 81/100 (21/20/20/20).
