Review #461 |
Sweet vanilla, oak and a touch of cinnamon
in the smell. After some minutes in the glass, some more spices comes forward.
So does some burned caramel and herbs. Like lemongrass and mint, but just a touch.
Oak and spices are the dominant flavours at
first in the taste. The citrusy notes are a bit more in the background, but ads
a nice little touch. The Sweetness is coming more forward in the finish. Again
it is like burned caramel and vanilla.
A quite enjoyable whiskey from Knob Creek,
and I really enjoy the Rye whiskey spiciness. The high ABV gives it a little
extra as well, and for what I’ve heard, it should be fantastic in cocktails as
well – but that is another story. I will give this 83/100 (20/21/21/21).
