Review #467 |
This is bottled in 2016 from first fill Oloroso Sherry
casks. Loads of marzipan and almonds. Not much Sherry influence at first in the smell, but
as it gets time in the glass, it starts to open up, and the fruity flavours
comes forward. Still classic Glenlivet though, smooth and clean.
First in the taste I get nuts and spices. Almonds and
hazelnuts with light dried fruits on the side. Some chocolate comes forward in
the finish alongside some gentle red fruits. It never comes all the way to the
heavy dried fruits though...
It is a funny feeling how the Sherry influence never
really sets in. It is close all the way, but it never comes in full effect.
Still a nice dram, but either it ain´t to old, or the casks are too poor. I
will give this 85/100 (21/21/22/21).
