Review #488 |
The
Gentleman Jack expression is charcoal mellowed twice – both before and after
the ageing process. Sweet vanilla and honey at first in the smell. Some caramel,
fresh and dried fruits comes forward as well. Mostly apples and raisins.
Sweet
vanilla and honey as well in the taste, but some oak mixes in. The sweetness
from dried fruits, especially dates comes to mind, hides in the background. It’s
a medium finish, but unfortunately, it is quite watery.
It lacks
some complexity and depth, but I must admit that it is quite fresh. A fine
everyday dram, although I prefer American whiskey to be more full in flavours.
I will give this 79/100 (20/19/20/20).
