Review #471 |
A small
batch Bourbon from Kentucky Bourbon Distillers. It is bottled at a funny 50,05
% or 100,1 American proof. This is from batch QBC No 15-81. Charred oak,
cinnamon and some Christmas cake fruits on the nose. It is very closed at
first, so give it some minutes in the glass, and make sure it isn’t too cold.
The taste
is full of dark fruit, oak and honey. The finish is medium to long, but nothing
new happens here. The sweetness takes over a bit though, and some vanilla and
caramel is coming forward. Some wood spices is present all the way through.
Not very
complex, but it does the job with a nice long and warm finish. A very classic
Bourbon in my book, and the high ABV really suits it, without being
overpowering. I will give this 82/100 (20/21/21/20).
