Glen Moray, Chardonnay Finish, 40%

Review #538
Malt, light fruity sour grapes and sweet pear in the smell. Very young. New make notes is definitely present. The new make notes seems to calm a bit down after some minutes in the glass, but the 40% makes it very light in general.

The taste is a bit rough (not alcohol rough). White fruits are dominant. Apples, pineapple and some citrus in the background. The finish gets watery very fast. Some sweet notes from the white fruits hangs around for a bit though.

Interesting to see what a Chardonnay finish can do to a young whisky, but this doesn’t even come close to the 10 year old Chardonnay expression from Glen Moray. A fine dram, but a little too young for my taste, and bit too boring to be honest. I will give this 77/100 (18/20/20/19).
