Review #574 |
This is a blended Irish whiskey and it was
released in 2017 by Diageo. It is matured in ex-Bourbon casks, with a high
proportion of first fill casks. Brown sugar and wood spices in the smell. Hints
of oak and a fair amount of vanilla in the end.
Loads of vanilla in the taste, with hints
of burned oak. Sweet pears, some coconut joins in, and the brown sugar is back.
It is basically the same in the finish, but that really doesn’t matter here. It
is medium long but the dark oaky and sugary notes covers the mouth beautifully.
