Review #581 |
This triple
distilled single malt Irish whiskey is finished in Bourbon, Port, Madeira and
Oloroso Sherry casks. Incredible clean in the smell, yet very fruity. Fresh red
berries – cherry and raspberries – and thick marzipan sweetness. Some vanilla
and hints of citrus as well.
Dry oak,
loads of vanilla and baked apples in the taste. Some tannins tickles your
tongue as well. Some dried fruits and fruity sweetness comes forward in the
finish, but mostly it is a continuation of the taste.
This is
might finished in four different types of wood, but the Bourbon casks are very
dominant. With that said, make sure to give it time in the glass, as it changes
very much and the different types of maturation have an interesting impact on
the whiskey. I will give this 84/100 (21/21/21/21).
