Review #603 |
This whisky is named ”Seriously Scrumptious”.
It states on the bottle it is from a Virgin Oak Hogshead, but on the text on
the bottle, it also says ex Bourbon hogshead, so who knows? Maybe a finish in
Virgin Oak. 262 bottles were made. Sweet vanilla and over ripe plums in the
smell. Oak and sweet raisins in the background.
Very powerful with oak spices coming
through at first in the taste. Then the oak comes forward with burned caramel.
The finish is sweet, with vanilla mixing in with the caramel, oak and oak
spices. Some light fruits lies in the background all the way.
It’s a very lovely dram, but I miss a bit
of complexity. It is the same things that pops up from start to finish, and the
oak is quite dominant. But hey, it’s single cask, cask strength, and as I said,
very lovely. I will give this 86/100 (22/21/22/21).
