Review #632 |
The peat
and alcohol comes forward at first in the taste. Dry, ashy peat with a salty
touch. Some earth, hay and a whole lot of sweet vanilla as well. The finish is
warm and long. A bit dry, with some of the oak coming through alongside the
sweetness.
Single cask
Lagavulin bottled at cask strength – what is not to like? It is not very
complex, but it keeps you warm, and the Islay peat just pampers your palate! I
will give this 85/100 (21/21/22/21).
