Review #303 |
It is from the series “Individual Cask
Bottling” and comes from a sherry hogshead with casknumber 6892. 127 bottles
were made. Heavy fruits, berries and tannins at first in the smell with some
sweetness from a mix of marzipan and apricots. After the initial smell the
dried fruits appear.
The dried fruits comes instantly in the
taste and it is great balanced with the wood. In the finish you are left with
the oak mixed with the sweetness from plums etc. The strength makes it
easy to drink, and just enough to make the finish long.
A great sherry influenced whisky with
the known light style from Clynelish. Just good from start till finish! Nothing
too spectacular, just good craftsmanship! I will rate this 88/100
(22/22/22/22).
