Review #338 |
This NAS
bottling for travel retail comes from Bourbon casks. The smell is very light
with floral notes. A lot of vanilla comes rushing in, but not much happens. The
smell is nice, but nowhere near complex or challenging!
The floral
notes is dominant in the taste as well. A bit savory, but not much else here… Easy
to drink. The finish is medium long and some lemons or lemongrass comes
forward. Very uninteresting… Not much flavor from the cask, but it doesn’t have
that new make touch either. That tells me the casks must be some worn out
refill casks.
This is a
bit watery, and overall it is pretty clear that it lacks flavors from the
casks, due to a too short maturation process. Sadly, another NAS constructed to
the travel retail market, that lacks in complexity and maturation... I will
give this 77/100 (20/19/20/18).
