Review #339 |
This single
cask is from a Bourbon Hogshead and only 256 bottles were made. Light sweet
marzipan peat with hints of lemon in the smell. Not much influence from the 22 years in the
cask though.
Very mellow
in the taste. Sweet vanilla, marzipan and gentle peat. The finish is just a
soft continuation. Like pillow soft, but it stays for quite a while and pampers
your palate! Water doesn’t seem to do much, so it is simply just a silky smooth
dram.
I am a bit
surprised that the oak influence from a small Bourbon Hogsheads isn’t more
present after 22 years. Makes me wonder exactly how used it was before they
used it to make this one. I will give this 84/100 (21/21/21/21).
