Review #498 |
From the
series “Wood Finish Series” comes this whisky, finished in Pedro Ximinez Sherry
casks, and only 3060 bottles were made. Thick and sweet in the smell. Sweet
raisins and elegant oak. So rich!
So rich
(again)! The oils fills your mouth and the thickness from the PX casks shines
through in the taste. Dates, sweet raisins again. Some oak and vanilla shows its face in the
finish. The dried fruits lingers out and leaves you with a medium to long
finish.
A very nice
dram, but it lacks a little complexity. It is probably the watering down that
does it and kills some of the flavours that most definitely would be there if
it were cask strength. And boy, I would love to try this at cask strength!! I
will give this 86/100 (22/21/22/21).
