Review #499 |
This is from the series ”The
Un-Chillfiltered Collection” and is a single cask with the cask number 15100. It’s
a Sherry butt and only 787 bottles were made. It is sweet and dry at first in
the smell. Over ripe peaches, lemon peel and notes of bitterness from the wood.
A lot of alcohol at first in the taste. The
bitterness from the wood is dominant, and a bit too much in my opinion. The
finish gets a bit better and the sweetness slowly comes forward. Some dried
fruits find its way as well.
This have to spend some time in the glass
to open up. At first the dried fruits was subdued, the alcohol too present and
the oak didn’t work in favour for the whisky. After 10 minutes in the glass,
things starts to change for the better. Especially the dried fruits comes in
focus. I will give this 84/100 (21/20/22/21).
