Review #541 |
Both the
peat and the alcohol gets more dominant in the taste. Very rich in the fruit
flavours and your mouth is covered in oils. Dates, raisins and spices like
black pepper. The finish is hot and sweet from the dried fruits with a touch of
dark chocolate.
In my
opinion, it is not very often red wine maturation does any good for the whisky.
This however, pulled it off. Not spectacular, but a good and decent dram. A
good alternative to the many Bourbon matured Bowmore whiskies. I will give this
85/100 (21/21/22/21).
