Review #553 |
More
powerful in the taste and here you really get the 23 years of maturation! Oak,
oak and oak, in a rough but pleasant way. The sweetness starts to show – maple
syrup comes to mind. Some dried coconut comes forward in the finish alongside
burned oak, caramel and waves of vanilla.
A blended
malt as it is supposed to be! Different characters meeting together in harmony.
This is an old whisky where the oak has gotten the upper hand, but it has been
bottled before it would have overpowered the whisky. I will give this 85/100 (20/22/22/21).
