Review #612 |
A peated Amrut bottled at cask strength. It is made with
Scottish barley at 23 PPM. Peat, hay and vanilla in the smell. Some burned oak
as well.
Mostly alcohol and peat in the taste at first. A bit
too much alcohol compared to the peat if you ask me… Some dark flavours is also
present, especially burned caramel comes forward in the finish, to name some.
A
straight forward dram. Not complicated, but it delivers what is promised – a peated
whisky bottled at cask strength! The ‘darker notes’ makes it a bit interesting.
I will give this 82/100 (21/20/21/20).
